Amanpreet Kaur Rai is an active political and social worker from Punjab. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in December 2021 and has since contributed consistently to both party organisation and public service.
She has served as District Vice President and District General Secretary of BJP Rupnagar, with the additional responsibility of Prabhari for the Ropar Vidhan Sabha. She presently serves as Vice President of the BJP SC Morcha, Punjab.
On every issue that touches Halka Shri Chamkaur Sahib — illegal mining in the Sutlej, water and air pollution, employment for young people, and the safety of women — she has stood with residents at the ground level.

Contested in 1952 and 1955; fought the 1955 Roopnagar (Reserve) assembly by-election on a Congress ticket, given by the then Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru; Sarpanch of Village Majri (Thekedaran); Chairman and member of Block Samiti Roopnagar from the inception of Panchayati Raj until his death in 1997.

Congress MLA, 67-Chamkaur Sahib (1992–1997); contested the 1996 Ropar parliamentary election on a Congress ticket; Chairman, Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development & Finance Corporation (1993–1996); practising at the Punjab & Haryana High Court since 1973.

Retired District Food Supply Officer (DFSO), Food & Supplies Department, Ludhiana.

Two generations of her mother's family served in the Indian Army — from the Burma front of the Second World War to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Maternal grandfather
1915 – 2009
Joined the Indian Army in 1936 and served with the Bombay Engineer Regiment; spent about three and a half years in the jungles of Burma during the Second World War. Promoted Naib Subedar in 1947, and served in Nagaland, Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir. Retired as Subedar Major in April 1964, then served thirty years as General Secretary of the Ex-Servicemen League, Hoshiarpur.
Maternal uncle
1969 – 1994
Commissioned into the Dogra Regiment on 15 June 1969. Served on the China border in the 1971 period, and in Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur and Nagaland; served at Rashtrapati Bhavan with his battalion during the tenure of President R. Venkataraman. Retired on 31 July 1994, then spent nearly twelve years as Director – Administration across the Rayat Bahra Group universities.
