Work

Work, issue by issue

Organised by issue rather than by date — one panel for each priority.

Every claim here is published only after it can be verified, and every figure carries its source.

The detail under each priority comes from her own signed record of her social and religious work. The river and environment section is drawn instead from newspaper reporting of the Sri Chamkaur Sahib morcha, and says only what more than one paper carries.

From her public engagements in the constituency. Details for each photograph will be added once confirmed.

Heritage & history

Protecting the history of the land of the martyrs and the Guru Sahiban's legacy.

An active member of the Shri Guru Ravidas Dharmik Sabha at Ropar, which built the Guru Ravidas Dharmshala there. As Assistant Secretary of the Shri Udaseen Gobind Gau Dham at Raikot she takes part in its sewa, including the Bhandara truck flagged off each year for langar.

River & environment

A steady voice against illegal mining in the Sutlej and industrial pollution.

Through 2025 she was part of the Sri Chamkaur Sahib morcha against a paper mill proposed at the villages of Dhaulera and Bassi Gujjran. Press reports place her with the delegations that met the Haryana Chief Minister in May, the Punjab Governor at Raj Bhavan the same week — where a memorandum asked that no NOC be issued — and the Union Environment Minister in Delhi that August; some describe her as leading a delegation, others credit her with arranging the meeting. The memorandum's case was that the proposed site lies only about 200 metres from the Sirhind canal and about 10 metres from the Budha Dariya.

Women's empowerment

Backing women's leadership through Sikh Nari Manch and self-help groups.

Nukkad meetings with women in the villages of District Rupnagar and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib since 2017, and a standing connection with the ASHA workers at the civil hospitals of both districts. Through the Ann Jal Sewa Trust she has run seminars on women's empowerment, health awareness, female foeticide and mother-and-child care. In March 2026 she wrote to the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women in New Delhi asking for strict action against political leaders who use insulting language about women.

Human rights & legal aid

Free legal guidance in association with the Punjab Human Rights Organisation.

Assistant Secretary of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Welfare Council, Ludhiana, and an active member of the Vishwa Guru Ravidass Mission. When the SC-BC Morcha raised the issue of false Scheduled Caste certificates in Punjab, she carried their representation to the Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes in New Delhi. In March 2026 she opposed the Rs 80 fee charged for a copy of an FIR on the Punjab Police portal, arguing that obtaining an FIR is every citizen's basic right and that the poorest would be worst affected.

In her own words

Major issues raised and resolved

Over the past few years, I have consistently remained connected with the people of Shri Chamkaur Sahib and Morinda, raising their genuine concerns and taking them to the appropriate level for resolution. My approach has always been clear: public interest first, politics later.

  1. The proposed paper factory and the environment

I took a clear and consistent stand on the proposed paper factory because the matter was directly connected with the interests of my constituency and had significant public implications. More than 10,000 people came together in opposition to the proposed project in its present form, making it an important milestone in establishing BJP’s presence and credibility in Shri Chamkaur Sahib.

My position was never against development. I have always maintained that a factory is welcome in our constituency, but development cannot come at the cost of public interest, environmental concerns and our historical heritage.

The issue also raised serious concerns regarding the land and its earlier conversion, including the Panchayati land issue and its subsequent classification as banjar zameen.

  2. Protecting the historical importance of Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib

A major concern emerged when the EIA report submitted by the project proponents allegedly failed to adequately recognise the immense historical and religious significance of Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib and the sacred heritage associated with Chamkaur Sahib.

A large meeting was organised at Gurdwara Sahib, with representatives of different jathebandis and political parties invited. I conveyed the seriousness of the matter to the organisational leadership and, following the guidance received, took our team to Delhi to meet Manjinder Singh Sirsa Ji. We strongly presented the concerns of the people, and the matter subsequently moved towards a satisfactory resolution.

  3. Flood situation in the constituency

During the floods, I remained present in the constituency till late hours, including around 12 midnight, visiting the affected areas and standing with the families facing the situation on the ground. My priority was to remain with the people when they needed support the most.

  4. Cooperative societies’ issues

Several issues concerning cooperative societies were brought to me by people because they had lost confidence in getting their concerns addressed at the district level. I personally took up these matters and pursued them at the appropriate level, ultimately helping in getting the issues resolved.

  5. Special arrangements for shellers

The shellers of the constituency approached me regarding the requirement for special arrangements. I took up their concerns and pursued the matter with the concerned authorities. As a result of these efforts, arrangements were facilitated for 7 shellers from Shri Chamkaur Sahib and 22 from Morinda, addressing an important concern of the local rice-milling community.

  6. Jindapur Panchayat land issue

The Sarpanch of Jindapur Panchayat, despite being associated with the Aam Aadmi Party, approached me regarding the alleged occupation of Panchayat land by outsiders. I did not look at the matter through a political lens. I stood with the entire Panchayat, took up the issue with the concerned authorities and pursued it until the matter was resolved.

These are only some of the major issues on which I have worked. Apart from these, numerous smaller public and personal grievances are regularly brought to me, and I continue to assist people to the best of my ability.
